just beachy

So my neighbor tells me about this secluded beach that her and her family went to recently. Apparently her daughter came home with 30 sand dollars found at this beach. So, Jim and the kids and I decided to venture out to this spot to walk the beach and check things out. You'd never know this beach was accessable, really. When we drove down to the marina (here on base) we came to this "road" which was closed off. You'd never think you could go back there... but we did! We parked the car and walked past the barrier that kept cars from diving back. We found a boardwalk that took you through the woods before it brought you back to the beach. We saw deer tracks, racoon tracks, bear tracks, and tons of other wildlife prints in the muddy ground beneath the boardwalk. When we got to the beach we were impressed with the snow white sand and emerald water. Unfortunately we didn't find any sand dollars (sorry Grandma Nichols!). We did see tons of crabs swimming away from us as we neared them, and of course the hermit crabs..they are everywhere down here! I didn't take any pictures of the beach this time, but I did get a great picture of Tyler and Jim near the jetty.......
