spooky

As some of you may already know, I LOVE HALLOWEEN! I have been having fun looking at costumes and getting the decorations out and put up. I love to do my Halloween shopping at the end of the season so that I can get the 75% off - and I just save it for the next year " ) This year I have a couple of new decorations, one of which the kids love. His name is Marcus the Carcus. It's one of those glowing guys that looks like he's trying to escape from the ground. He is pretty cool, I have to admit. So, with Halloween come the ghosts and goblins, right? I am so intruiged by ghosts and spirits that I decided that I might go on an adventure. Luckily, my neighbor is just as facinated with this subject as I am....maybe even more actually! None-the-less, we are planning for a frightfull adventure as we are researching the most haunted areas in Panama City to visit. BUT...before we do begin our adventure we'll be going to have a drink or two, maybe a couple shots, too - ok, we WILL need some liquid courage to actually take on this challenge! No one said it would be easy, right? " ) Wish us luck! I'll post some pictures if we "catch" anything extraordinary!

quality time

It's been a great three-day weekend and, sadly, it has come to an end. We spent the majority of this holiday weekend cleaning up around the house and doing yard work, but we decided that we should do something a little more family oriented today. So, we decided to go fishing. We packed up the kids, a couple capri-suns and goldfish crackers, the fishing poles and tackle box, and headed up to the Shopette to buy our bait. After getting our squid, we headed to the beach! Our first fishing spot of choice wasn't open....so we headed further down the highway to the next town called Mexico Beach.
So we get to our new fishing spot, near a canal, when Jim informs us that we can't go fishing after all.... he has forgotten his Leatherman and we needed that to cut our squid up and, if caught, get the catfish off the line without getting injured. Well...that sucks......BUT all was not lost....it was a beautiful evening with calm waters, and a perfect picture taking opportunity!

Although, difficult to see....about 4 dolphin were swimming playfully just offshore. These dolphins were jumping out of the water like you would see at Sea World! It was so cool! Of course, I wasn't lucky enough to snap a picture of that...but I promise it's not a fish story! " )

j.o.b. update

I have been slacking with my posts....but understandably so, right? " ) I started my job almost two weeks ago, and I am loving it! The first week was a little tough for me - not so much the work part, but the sleeping and staying awake part. I was SO tired almost everyday last week I could hardly stand it! But my days flew by so quick and before I knew it my work day was over! It feels great to be back into the working world. I was missing it.

I never thought I would find another boss as good as the one I had while working for the Rustlers, but I have to admit that my new boss is pretty great! "Family comes first", he told me. "You can't do anything wrong", he says.......OMG, am I hearing this right?? So, yeah, I'm pretty thrilled to be working for someone like this. People like him make me want to work and give 120%. It sure beats my old boss (sticky note natzi) lol

The boys are loving their after school program and Addison is doing great with school/daycare. Addison cried the very first day when I dropped her off to daycare, but that was it! The kids have also been signed up for AWANAS and go there every Sunday for a couple of hours. I really think that the breaks that I am getting from the kids during the days and on Sundays are really helping me be a better mom! But boy do I feel like a horrible mom saying that! I just know that God didn't mean for me to be a stay at home mom, and that's OK with me " )

I've been tagged.....crap!

I never realized there were blog games until yesterday. Nosey me wants to check out everyone's blogs, and apparently once you've read that someone else had been tagged, you are automatically tagged as well. My dear friend Bradi called me out, so I think the least I can do is participate....so here goes........ 5 little known facts about myself: 1. I don't eat breakfast, it makes me nauseous (not to mention I want to eat every 20 minutes after that!). 2. I HAVE to shave my legs every time I shower. I can't stand lotioning hairy legs! 3. I have to apply lotion to my entire body after each shower (me too Bradi). I can't stand how dry my legs and arms feel if I don't. 4. I should buy stock in Carmex. I apply the stuff to my lips every morning when I get up (after I brush my teeth), after each meal, and right before I go to bed. I can't stand dry lips " ) 5. I hate being the center of attention. My face turns flush every time all eyes are on me.

Labor Day Weekend

Vortex Springs

Addison starts school!

Addison started PreK yesterday!! She was so excited about starting school " ) We went to Target last week to buy her a new backpack and she's been wearing it everyday since. She actually put on her backpack yesterday morning as soon as she crawled out of bed....I had to remind her that she had to get dressed and get her hair done before we could go to school.

This is Addison's classroom.......

Look mom, NO TEARS!! She is ready for her day..... I am so proud of her " )
