add hairstylist....

.......to my current list of motherly duties. After cutting all of the boys' hair(s?) for close to 6 years, I figured I could do it....and I hate to toot my own horn, but dang it TOOT TOOT! Seriously, though, I'm pretty excited about how it turned out. Addison looks so darn cute with short hair! She's just plain cute.

Truely the Most Haunted?

Back: Leslie, Kat, Deanna, Brenda, Deborah

GIRLS WEEKEND!

17Hundred90 The Haunted Inn....one of the most haunted Inns in all of Savannah, or so we are told.

For this year's girls weekend getaway we chose to go to the most haunted town in the US, Savannah, GA. Not only did Savannah have a wonderful Southern charm, it holds many secrets of past lives and hauntings.

The Infamous Room 204 - our room. This is where most of the activity happens in the hotel.

I couldn't resist showing off this picture....Thelma & Louise - we rode the entire 7 hours with the top down...well, we did have a hot spell when we noticed how red we were getting.....so we chickened out the last hour or so of the trip.

Deanna, Jackie, Leslie, Brenda, Kelly, Me & Kat -- our 9th girl was still driving down from DC when this picture was taken (by Lori).

We took a haunted tour of the town - this is our guide Robert. Apparently we were standing on the dead while on the sidewalk.....

If you look closer you will see orbs....

Visit from Ranae & Julie

Yes, I am more of a "let the pictures tell the story" kind of girl......and that doesn't change here. I've posted many pics of my wild Labor Day weekend with a visit from my great friend Ranae and her cousin Julie (aka Jooley...as Addison likes to spell it - very cute).

Ranae's last day here we visited her in-laws at the Saltwater Grill (very cool 25,000 gallon saltwater aquarium inside!).

Tyler takes a shot of us girls on the bar.

The kiddos -- Jim & I (thanks for the picture Tyler!)

BEACHIN IT!
So, the first day I take Ranae and Julie out on the boat (just us girls alone) I hurt myself....you can't see it here, but look below for a nice shot of my bruised ankle. I'm not so graceful when it comes to slippery slopes with wet flipflops on.
What trip to PCB would be complete without a trip to the beach?? NONE! Funny story about the day we took the boat out on Saturday.....ALL of the adults, myself excluded - captain - were sitting in the front of the boat. We had 11 people in all....4 kids, 7 adults. Guess who weighs more? What happens when all of the weight is at the front of the boat? Well...it begins to DIVE into the water. Oh yeah....it was hilarious to see the front of the boat just sink under the water - all you could see was water creeping all the way up to my feet. Jim, who is dangling his feet (and now body) off the front of the boat jumps up and yells for everyone to go to the back of the boat! I threw the engine in reverse, but it was out of the water! It was hilarious, but at the time I think most everyone was a little freaked out!

On our way back from the beach the adults jumped off the boat while moving full steam ahead (all of our 40hp). It was so funny.....

Nae & I are sitting in the water...if we knew you couldn't actually tell that, I'm sure we wouldn't have sat down! :)

On our way out, talking about sinking the boat.

Drinking at Stetsons....and trying to dance......

I was a trooper with my "bum" ankle.

Going out to Pier Park - Tootsies & the Beer Hause (Hauf Brau or something like that)

The girls dance on the bar at Coyote Ugly

Happy Bday Anika! 33 is a good number!!

I am getting pampered by the PCB Police Officer :)

Econfina Canoe Trip Fall 08

Charlies Angels (a.k.a. me, Susie & Sara)

Yesterday was our fall trip down the Econfina River....we had a blast!

Each year Jim's squadron puts together (or shall I say Theresa puts together) a canoe trip for all in the squadron who want to go. This year's attendees were: us, Derek & Sara, Ricky & Randy, Bruce & Susie, Theresa & Sam, James Freeze, and some contractors (not sure who they were...). Dispite the fairly small group, we had a blast! Derek & Sara brought squirt guns & silly string to spice the trip up a little more - as if we needed help doing that! ;) There was enough alcohol on board each canoe to keep 30 men drunk....and I think everyone managed to keep all of it contained this year (a.k.a. in the boat, not floating away when the canoes tipped over).

Getting the canoes ready....

Close up of Susie & I (self portrait I think)

Our first stop....one of the natural springs. I am getting buzzed at this point - I think it was close to lunch time by that time. I hardly ever drink, but this year's been one of many drinks....

Here's most of the group....

Back on the water....watch out for the branches, spiders, and snakes Randy!

Susie & Bruce before one of their many tips

This little tip-over was a consipracy between the two men "helping" keep the canoe from floating away. This was the first time Jim & I went into the water.
Thank goodness we weren't the ONLY ones tipping over!

Gustav

Yet another Tropical Storm is on its way to the Gulf of Mexico....and what great timing it has (I say with plenty of sarcasm). My friend Ranae and her cousin are flying in from IL to spend the holiday weekend with us. I have plans of boating, sunning, swimming, and fishing in store for us and I may have to squeeze that in to two days...not to mention the nightlife and a lunch date with Ranae's in-laws (who are down here right now as well).

Keep your fingers crossed that Gustav will hold off until after Tuesday - Nae has to fly back home Tuesday afternoon and as much as I want her to stay down here...I'm sure Bill and the girls would want their mommy back home :)

On another note:
I'll try to do better with the pictures. I have been very busy trying to touch up photos from previous sessions and get them out to my clients ASAP - I have to build a good customer base! I'll try to do better!

Fay was a tease

Tropical storm Fay turned out to be a big tease.....yes, you heard right, a tease. Am I really an adrenaline junkie? We have been here for two years, seriously...where are all of these "storms"? I know I should be careful of what I wish for, but really...

The eye of the storm was sitting directly on top of us...storms spinning all around us. It was the calm before the storm - or so we thought. Then drizzle, drizzle, and more drizzle. A westerly (sp?) wind came in and, like magic, distanced the storm from us.

Jim tells me there's another tropical storm in the Carribean somewhere. I say I'll get excited when I see it head our way.

(in all seriousness, though...I am happy there wasn't a soul hurt - around here - do to TS Fay)

Tropical Storm Fay

The Eye of the storm has just passed over us......we are just waiting for her to unleash her fury.....

"Tropical Storm Fay crossed into the Florida Panhandle on Saturday, becoming the first storm of its kind in recorded history to hit the state four different times.Fay's center made landfall around 1 a.m. EDT about 15 miles north-northeast of Apalachicola, according to the National Weather Service's National Hurricane Center.Fay was expected to finally leave the state on Saturday as it skirted across the Panhandle's coast and reached the coasts of Mississippi and Alabama on Sunday.Though Fay never materialized into a hurricane, downpours along its zigzagging path have been punishing and deadly."

To see where she's at now, check out the weather channel's website.

On a personal note:
we are excited about this storm....the adrenaline junkies we are -- we are having a TS Fay Party today! Lots of food and drinks :) Pics to follow.......
